A red cabbage juice with pineapple, lemon and ginger, made to actually taste good after I tried recipes that didn't, cabbage juice is known to help ulcers and constipation.

Red cabbage juice has gained a lot of attention since the release of the juicing documentary Super Juice Me, but I have to be honest and say most of the recipes I’ve tried taste really bad!

When working on new recipes for my 5 day juice detox programme I decided to give myself the challenge of making a red cabbage juice that I enjoy drinking - and I think I’ve cracked it.

The benefits of cabbage juice has been documented for many years - indeed, Dr Norman Walker wrote about how duodenal ulcers responded “almost miraculously” to the drinking of cabbage juice back in the 1930s!

In one study into Peptic Ulcer Disease (PUD), a litre of raw cabbage juice each day resulted in total PUD healing in an average of just 10 days!

The beneficial effect is believed to be due to the amino acid glutamine, which is needed by the surface of the small intestine in order to regenerate.

Cabbage juice has also been known to help with constipation and clearing skin eruptions.
