About
Hi, I’m Neil
Proud dad. DJ since 1987. Sober since 2014. Three decades in business and technology, still figuring out the rest as I dance my way through life.

The short version
Beats, business & life
I was born in Southampton in 1975 and got my first turntables when I was 12. Somewhere along the way the records led to three decades in business, and I’ve never stopped playing either.
My juicing blog, Natural Juice Junkie, passed a million page views in its first 18 months. My book, Done Beats Perfect, came out in March 2021, with a foreword by Nigel Risner, and Nigel and I co-hosted a podcast together for more than five years.
These days I’m Director of Marketing & Edutainment at ActionCOACH UK. I’ve been ranked in their top 25 business coaches globally, and my peers voted me a winner of the Action Hero Award.
This site is where it all lives in one place: the records, the lessons I’ve picked up in business, and the bits of life in between. Food, fashion, fitness, and the odd story from the early days of the internet.

What I believe
Constantly empowering others
The real job of anyone who leads is to grow the people around them.
This has been my personal mission for years, long before any specific job title. You’ll see it in what I write, in who I am and in the way I show up, in both life and business.
Three rules I live by
1) Done beats perfect.
If you don’t start, nothing happens. Stop living for one day and make today day one.
2) Read the room.
Know your audience and choose your words. One conversation can change an entire life, for better or for worse.
3) ABC: Always be curious.
Want a better life? Ask a better question. That’s how you find a better answer.
Find your way in
Three things I write about
Beats
Music I’ve made, records I play, Track by Track, Sunday Selector and curated playlists.
Business
Lessons from three decades in business and technology, written to be read in a coffee break.
Life
Being a dad, staying fit, good food, terrace classics, and trying to be a bit better than yesterday.
