Day 3: Act

Dec 3, 2016 | Life

Day 3 of my 2016 Motivational Advent Calendar: the world judges you by your actions, so take the first small step.

Door three of my video advent calendar. First published December 2016.

Act

"Without action, the best intentions in the world are nothing more than that: intentions" (Jordan Belfort, The Wolf of Wall Street)

If you've decided what you want and you've accepted responsibility for exactly where you are right now, the next thing you need to do to achieve anything in life is to act.

Lao Tzu said that a walk of a thousand miles starts with a single step. But so many people are scared of taking that step. They don't move forward at all. You might be judging yourself by your intentions, but the rest of the world judges you by your actions.

Your decisions are nothing until you act on them. If you want to make progress on anything in life, you have to act, no matter how small that step is. Even if all you do is schedule the time to take the step, that's still a step.

So whatever it is you want to do in life, what is the first small step you can take? Then go and take it.

The book: The Wolf of Wall Street by Jordan Belfort.
