Did you know romaine lettuce is 17% protein? One of the questions sceptics always ask about plant based nutrition is where do you get your protein, well the good news is romaine is also a complete protein with all 8 essential amino acids. Romaine is also a great source of calcium, iron, B-vitamins, omega-3s and contains more vitamin C than an orange! This leafy green is a much overlooked superfood and hence I decided it was time to dedicate a juice recipe to one of natures finest.

Juicy Ingredients
- 10 romaine leaves
- 2 apples
- 1/3 cucumber
- 2 sticks of celery
- 1/2 lime (peel the lime if you want the juice less zesty)
- 1 thumb sized chunk of ginger (or a bit more if you are feeling brave!)
How to Make It
- Wash / clean all the produce
- Juice the romaine leaves
- Juice the cucumber
- Juice the lime
- Juice the celery
- Juice the ginger
- Juice the apples
I use the Optimum 600 cold press juicer and the Optimum 9400 blender.
